General standards and responsibilities

“Authorized social media user” or “authorized user” means and includes any ___
City employee, volunteer, or any other person responsible for the use, administration, management, monitoring, and/or retention of social media, social media tools or web sites, and/or social media content, in the name of or on behalf of the LAFD and any of its Sections, Bureaus, etc.

1) Enhance the speed, reach, and targeting of communications, particularly during disaster/emergency incidents;
2) Facilitate collaboration
3) Improve information exchange between residents and employees
4) Increase citizen engagement and dialogue
5) Streamline processes
6) Foster productivity improvements
7) Increase the Department’s ability to broadcast messages to the widest possible audience (local, regional, national, and global).
