VOR means very old sherry and VORS means very old rare sherry.These are age-indicated sherry style.These are blend of different age of wines. Average age is 20 years or 30years or more.On every individual batch of wine, tasting pane assess the typicity.They are sent to laboratory analysis for evidence of age. It is little astringent and can add little sweet wine(usually PX)as long as not masking the original dry(as judged by tasting panel)
Only Amontillado, Palo Cortado, Oloroso and PX are eligible.

It is style of Sherry. 5g residual sugar and 17-22%adv. alcohol are only rules to be this style.Its aroma is similar those of Amontillado and palate is more similar Oloroso.Wines with less delicate, more complexity, passed some mild oxidation at second classification experience oxidative ageing at palo cortado solera.It has less biological character (higher glycerol, less acetaldehyde) than Amontillado.
It is slightly fuller, rounder body than Amontillado.It is very good to outstanding quality and often premium-priced.

It is finished and packaged in a way to be the best representation of the wine straight from the barrel. It is applied to any dry style of Sherry. (Fino en rama is most common.)

This is a wine from one year, made only from the grapes of one estate(quinta) that is stated on the label.

It is good to very good quality and mid to premium priced.

They can only be maximum age indication of 10years. This name originated from the story that rain diluted the wine in some casks left open outside awaiting shipment.

This is a term for vintage madeira that has been aged in wood for a minimum 20 years.It is also called Garrafeira. These wines usually represent the flagships of a producer’s range. The wine must be made from a prescribed grape variety, which must appear on the label together with the year of harvest and the year of bottling. Since 2015, Tinta Negra has been permitted as grape variety. The quality of the wine must be assessed by IVBAM’s tasting panel. Style depends on the grape variety from which they are made.All of these wines typically command super premium price, and are notable for their concentration, complexity of tertiary flavours, sweetness balanced by high acidity.

It can be made either from blend of varieties or single variety Grapes does not need to appear on label but harvest year and bottling year must be stated. Quality of wine must be assessed by IVBAM’s tasting panel. It is new category since 2000.All producers make this wine. It became popular due to much lower ageing requirement than Frasqueira.
