Thymosin role
actin binding protein.
Collects the G-actin in a pool.
Profilin’s role
Regulate G-actin binding by ADP/ATP exchanges.
Promotes actin monomer from thymosin to + end of actin filament.
Gelsolin’s Role
severes and caps the protofilament preventing the length changes
Cofilin role
Stimulates the dissoaciation of ADP-bound G-actin
Cytochalasins
bind to the + end forming a cap and preventing further growth
Phalloidin
prevents dissociation of protofilament by binding to the G-actin
Latrunculins
promotes protofilament dissociation by binding to G-actin
Arp2/3
initiates new starting sites for protofilament formation. causes branching.
List the types of collagen fiber we need to know.
- I, general CT and bone, tensile strength
- II, cartilage, tensile strength
- III, organ parenchyma, reticular framework
- IV, basement membrane, scaffolding.
Motor proteins and function
