Intrahepatic masses
Cause the following findings:
- displacement of hepatic vascular radicles
- external buldgeing of the liver capsule
- posterior shift of the vena cava
Extrahepatic mass
internal invagination or discontunity of the liver capsule
- formation of a triangular fat wedge
- anterioromedial shift of the IVC
- anterior displacement of the right kidney
Hepatic cyst
solitary, non-paracystic cyst of the liver
Cysts may be
Congenital or acquired, solitary or multiple
symptoms of a cyst
Asymptomatic
Benign cyst findings
well-demarcated, thin waled, anechoic with posterior enhancement
what may develop as cyst increases
Pain
if a cyst hemorrhages and becomes infected
Fever may occur
hepatic cysts occur more commonly in what gender

fine linear internal septa

Calcification, which may cause shadowing

Usually incidental finding, solitary
