Various patient positions and compression show the lesion to be immobile in the gallbladder.
Sonographic appearance
Thickening of muscular layer of gallbladder wall
•Mucosal hyperplasia
•Begin as small elevations in the gallbladder lumen
•Thickening of gallbladder wall with cystic spaces
•Focal or diffuse
•Small echogenic foci are seen within the wall that create comet tail artifact
•Lesion is immobile (even with changes in positioning)
•No poterior acoustic shadow
