what blood tests are associated with chronic hepatitis?
· Increased AST
· Increased ALT
· Increased Bilirubin
· Leukopenia
what is the appearance of liver parenchyma in chronic hepatitis
Liver parenchyma is coarse
Will there be increased or decreased brightness of portal triads
Decreased
what can be said about the degree of attenuation in chronic hepatitis?
degree of attenuation is not as great as with infiltration
what occurs to the size of the liver in chronic hepatitis
Does not increase in size
what may fibrosis produce in chronic hepatitis
Fibrosis may produce soft shadowing posteriorly
differential diagnosis of chronic hepatitis
· Cirrhosis
· Hepatitis
what is Reidel’s lobe?
Normal variant of the right lobe of the liver. This variant can extend as far down as the iliac crest
what are symptoms of Reidels lobe
This is considered to be a normal variant and does not have any additional symptoms associated with it
what is the appearance of Reidel’s lobe?
Inferior extension of the right lobe, which is considered to be a normal variant. This normal variant may extend down as far as the iliac crest

is a benign, self-limiting process.
Chronic active hepatitis
usually progresses to cirrhosis and liver failure
