15
Q

Why are we unable to distinguish between viscerala nd somatic pain in MI?

A

Cardiac cells die, pain fivres viscera afferents stimulated which run along sympathetics therefore somatic senses arising from dermatomes T2 T4

16
Q

Why can you get referred pain in the jaw from cardiac pain?

A

phrenic nerve T1-T4 dermatomes from C345 phrenic.

Oesophageal pain may also travel this wway.

17
Q

What is the pulmonary plexus?

A

Sympathetic bronchodilation vasoconstricition

Para sympathetic - bronchoconstriction, mucus secretion, vasodilation, cough reflex

18
Q

What is pancoast tumour

A

apex lung, damaging nerves at 1st rib presenting in small muscles of hand with ptosis, miosis and facial anhidrosis sweat glands not innervate (horners syndrom)

Papillary constricion
Constricted pupils
Droopy eyelid

19
Q

What does a beta blocker antagonist do to an asthmatic?

A

broncoconstriction
