What is are the classic signs of croup?
A
Hoarseness
Seal-like barking cough
Inspiratory stridor
Resp distress

What is the cause of croup?
A
Acute viral infection, commonly parainfluenza viruses

How is croup managed?
A
Depending on severity:
- Supportive therapy, hydration, and parental counselling
- Airway support
- Corticosteroids (oral dexamethasone or inhaled budesonide) or adrenaline
- Abx only if secondary bacterial infection is suspected

A
Steeple or Pencil sign of proximal trachea
