What is within a AHS CPO’s jurisdiction?
AHS owned property and adjacent property, and a vehicle used by AHS to transport a patient (ex: EMS) where the officer is providing security.
(CPO vehicles do not count, as we are not authorised to transport patients in them)
What criteria must be met for an AHS CPO to be able to enforce their authorities under their appointment?
-Legally Employed and on shift
-Carrying their Peace Officer Identification
-In full uniform (carrying authorised equipment)
-Operating within their jurisdiction
-Enforcing legislation or authorities that are found in their appointment
What equipment is an AHS CPO permitted to carry under their appointment?
- A baton
- Handcuffs
3.PPE including bullet resistant vest, a stab resistant vest, or protective gloves - Particular equipment necessary to carry out the enforcement duties and responsibilities of the Peace Officer and;
- Tools and items necessary for the performance of the Peace Officer’s duties and responsibilities
