Mucus:
• Glycoproteins held together by disulfide and hydrogen bonds. Sometimes DNA is also incorporated

Other than mucolytics how can we facilitate mucus clearance?
A
- Provide adequate hydration
- Remove Causative Factors (smoking, pollutants, allergens)
- Optimize Tracheobronchial clearance
- Reduce inflammation
