Tom Andersen, a family therapist from Norway.
What is a Reflecting Team?
A reflecting team is a group of about 4-7 therapists who observe your therapy session and then have a conversation about what they noticed about the session. A one-way mirror is used to separate the therapist/client from the team.
- First, therapy occurs
- Then the therapist/client views the reflecting team in conversation
- Then therapy continues to address things that came up.
Sometimes, reflecting teams are utilized on a one-time basis, as a way for a therapist and client to obtain consultation on a case; other reflecting teams are standing groups providing ongoing feedback.
