Conditioning Flashcards
1
Q
Conditioning
A
Involves cerebellum (reflexes) and the amygdala (emotion)
In trace conditioning (small lag) creates insufficient association. The trace (info kept in system) is dependent on MTL. People with damage here can’t be conditioned
2
Q
Habituation
A
Reduced response, less neurotrans released when neutral stimulus is repeated. Only the important neurons fire (few minutes, involves short term)
3
Q
Sensitization
A
Stronger response, more neurotrans release as paired with aversive stimulus. Can lead to gene expression (structure change. long term)
