Q

Define biotic factors
Define ecosystem

A

Biotic factors : living factors of the environment , e.g food

Q

What do organisms need in order to survive and why?
Who do they compete with ?

A

1) Things from the environment and from other organisms
- Plants need water, space , mineral ions , light
- Animals need territory, food, water, mates

2) In order to survive and reproduce

Q

What is interdependence ?

A

In a community, each species depends on other species for things such as food, shelter, pollination and seed dispersal

  • The interdependence of all living things in a ecosystem means that any major chances to the ecosystem can have far reaching effects
