When sectors/groups have been established, Sector/Group Supervisors must ensure that non-urgent transmissions do not bypass the Sector/Group Supervisor. I

If a nonurgent message is transmitted to “Command” or “Operations,” the Sector/Group Supervisor, or the RESOURCE UNIT LEADER must acknowledge the message and inform the member that
a sector/group has been established. He/she must then inform the member that all future non-urgent transmissions are to go through their assigned sector/group

The withdrawal of specific sectors may be delegated to a Sector Chief, (e.g. Roof Sector Supervisor, Exposure 2 Sector Supervisor, etc.). The IC will confirm the Sectors are transitioning to an exterior attack.

make contact with other member(s) operating on the roof to ensure they are withdrawing

The IC may withdraw members briefly in order to quickly knock down fire utilizing an exterior stream to gain control of the fire and/or to protect life followed by a reinstatement of the interior attack. In these situations, the IC should determine if
members can remain in the building in safe areas.

A

If members are left in the building,
their location must be clearly identified and communicated via HT to the IC and/or Sector Supervisor before any exterior attack begins.
