What may constitute unsatisfactory performance?
- lack of knowledge of the application of laws required to be enforced
- unwillingness or inability to perform assigned tasks

conduct unbecoming?
- intoxicated in public places
- violating the law
- willful false public criticism of the SPD or any member
Use of offensive language by officers?
-employees shall not use coarse, violent, profane, or insolent language or express any prejudice
Citizen requests the officers name and badge number?
must give their name/DSN to anyone who asks
Officers level of aletness?
employees shall be attentive and alert at all times
Reporting to work? If going to be late?
- employees shall report for duty promptly
- employees who are going to be absent or late must notify supervisor at least 30 minutes prior to start time

employees shall not be careless, negligent, or unsafe with their use of dept. property or vehicles

Reporting for due under the influence?
- shall not report to duty under the influence of any drug that may cause impairment to perform duties
- shall not be under the influence of alcohol, be unfit for duty due to the use of alcohol (hung over), or have alcohol on their breath
Off duty alcohol consumption.
shall not consume alcohol off-duty to the extent their behavior would bring discredit upon themselves or the SPD
shall not, while off-duty, consume alcohol to the extent they are unfit to report for their next regular tour of duty
Tobacco use by employees.
tobacco use is prohibited when in personal contact with citizens in performance of duties
-no tobacco in city owned/leased vehicles
