2 oz Sazerac Rye Whiskey
5 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
Splash of Absinthe
1/2 Sugar Cube

  1. Chill a lowball glass with ice water
  2. Muddle Sugar Cube with water in mixing glass
  3. Pour out water in lowball, add Absinthe
  4. Add whiskey, bitters, and lemon peel to mixing glass with ice. Stir.
  5. Strain into Absinthe washed glass.

Stir and strain into a Coupe, top with Champagne and an Orange peel

This is a Manhattan Variant and sometimes called a Boothby Manhattan

Angostura Bitters

Saturate the sugar cube with Angostura, then deposit in the flute. Top with wine.

Express a lemon twist over the glass, but discard the peel.
