Single-vineyards Barbarescos San Lorenzo, Sori Tildin, Costa Russi, and Barolo Sperss were declassified from 1996-2011

It was to allow for the addition of 5%-8% Barbera, and also to draw attention back to the Barbaresco DOCG bottling.

They became DOCG wines again in 2013
