What is the care plan for performing passive range of motion to left shoulder?
Provide flexion/extension and abduction/adduction exercises to the resident’s left shoulder 3x each
Is the patient able to help you with the exercises?
No they are not
What is the 1st step you must do when performing passive range of motion to left shoulder?
Introduce yourself, identify patient and inform them that you need to perform some exercises on their left shoulder and make sure they are okay with that
What is the 1st set of exercises?
Flexion/Extension: raising their arm over their head and back down to the bed
T/F Inform the patient that you will be doing all of the work for the exercises, all they must do is inform you if they experience any pain or discomfort

Where must you support the patient while going through the exercises?
Support the patient at both joints of their arm
What is the 2nd set of exercises?
Abduction/Adduction: swinging their arm to the side and back in (like making a snow angel)
