In english we almost always speak about what a person is wearing in the present progressive tense, japanese is the same.
this means using te forms like in the previous set of flashcards

Mariko is wearing red pants
ジョンさんは シャツを きて いません
John is not wearing a shirt
その ひとは、 ようふくを きて いません でした。 わふくを きて いました
She wasn’t wearing western clothes. she was wearing Japanese clothes. (in Japanese youfuku often just means clothes in general, so by saying she wasn’t wearing western clothes its essentially suggesting to the listener she is nude, only to then explain she is in Japanese clothing afterwards)
