What is a slipped capital femoral epiphysis? How do you diagnose it?
a fracture though the growth plate of the femur head resulting in the neck and femur moves in an anterior direction with external rotation
Diagnosis: Usually with plain film showing posterior displacement of the femoral head, like an ice-cream scoop slipping off a cone.
what is Legg-Calve-Perthes disease?
hip disorder initiated by a disruption of blood flow to the head of the femur leading to avascular necrosis
what is developmental dysplasia of the hip (aka hip dysplasia)?
femoral head is not properly aligned with the acetabulum
How do you screen for hip dysplasia?
Ortolani and Barlow maneuvers
what are common symptoms of lime disease?
erythema migrans
fever
malaise
fatigue headache

When septic arthritis is suspected, what procedure needs to be done?

How do you treat transient synovitis of the hip?
rest and ibuprofin
