Chord Diameter Radius Centre Circumference Tangent Secant Sector Segment Semi-circle
What is a chord?
A chord is a line that spans part of the width of a circle. It stops at the sides of the circle.
What is the diameter?
The diameter is a line that divides a circle equally in half.
What is the radius?
The radius is a line that goes from the centre of a circle to the outside of the circle. All radii in a circle are equal.
What is the centre?
The centre is the mid point of a circle.
What is the circumference?
The circumference is the length of the outer rim of the circle.
What is the tangent?
The tangent is a line that rests on the outside of a circle.
What is the secant?
The secant is similar to a chord, but it passes through the outer rim of the circle.
What is a sector?
A sector is the part of a circle that lies between two radii.
What is a segment?
A segment is the part of a circle that lies between the chord and the outer rim of a circle.
What is semi-circle?
A semi-circle is the part of a circle between the diameter and the outer rim of a circle.
