- gram +ve and gram -ve (eg pasteurella. Mannheima, Histophilus)
- Used in dogs for eye treatment (crosses cornea), CNS, heart, lung, saliva, prostate, foetus, milk

Banned in food producing animals
but is registered for cattle and pigs

- Very high lipophilicyt - the go anywhere drug.
