Where researcher reviews the research from various perspectives
Give different possible explanations for the results and discuss why one explanation is superior to another
Introduction section
Researcher outlines the problem that has been investigated
Past research and theories relevant to the problem are described in detail
Hypothesis
Tentative idea or question waiting for evidence to support or refute it
Literature review
Way to explore past research
Articles summarize research in particular area
Methods selection
Divided into subsections determined by author and dependent on the complexity of research design
How study was conducted
Prediction
A guess at the outcome of a hypothesis
If prediction is confirmed by results, the hypothesis is supported

Research questions
Identify and describe the broad topic that they are investigating and then conduct research in order to answer their research questions
Results section
Researcher presents findings, usually in three ways.

Where you can search through citation information such as the name of the author or article title
Social sciences citation index
Related to science citation index. Search through citation info
Theory
Consist of systematic body of ideas about a particular topic or phenomenon
Organize and explain a varsity of facts
Generate new knowledge
