depressants which bind to an opioid receptor
naloxone (Narcan)
depressant - pure mu rc antagonists used only for emergency resuscitation in cases of overdose
naltrexone
depressant - mu rc antagonist; longer acting than naloxone - used by people trying to stay sober from opioids and alcohol - can be taken orally
mu rc agonists
depressants - methadone, heroin, & morphine (prototype drug in this class)
