Physical - the development of the body’s muscles, bones, etc.
Cognitive - Our ability to interpret and process information and the establishment of a person’s self-concept and self awareness.
Social - the development of relationships with peers, friends and others in the “outside world”
Emotional - Our ability to manage and regulate emotions

A

Chronological - Age measured in years, months and days
Skeletal Age - age indicated by the physical maturity of the skeleton
Developmental Age - Includes the interaction between the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of an individual

A

1) Infancy/Toddler Stage
- marks major development
2) The Childhood Stage
- the body begins to establish an important base of motor skills
3) The Puberty/Adolescence Stage
- a time of considerable psychological adjustment
4) The Adulthood Stage
- begin to experience physical changes such as higher blood pressure and weakening joints
