Short for memorandum and means reminder. Used to inform people, and maybe a call to action.

Unofficial, informal communication network within an organization.

What is a letter?
Brief messages sent to recipients that are often outside the organization
They are generally one or two pages.
What can letters show?
They can show your skill and qualifications to employers or deliver important information to others.
What are the five main areas of a letter?
- heading
- introduction
- body
- Conclusion
- Signature line that might include contact information
What is a business proposal?
documents designed to make a persuasive appeal to the audience to achieve something.
What are solicitations?
When asked to submit a proposal. usually indirect and open to the public.
What are unsolicited proposals?
These are known as cold calls of business writing. They need an understanding of the product or service.
What are reports?
documents to record and convey information.
What are the 2 types of reports?
Informational report that informs.
Analytical report that presents information to solve problems.
What is a resume?
document summarizing education, skills, talents, and employment history.
What are the main parts of a resume?
Contact information
Starts the resume
and should include
things like address
and proper names.
objective/goal
education and work experience, etc
Reverse chronological order of education. List school, degree, and gpa. Work experience is also in reverse chronological order with positions, company, and other skills.
What is a sales message?
persuasive message to inform and persuade people and close the sale.
Attention Statement, Introduction, Body, Conclusion, Residual Message
