What is Communication
Activity, Skill, or Art that incorporates lessons learned across a wide spectrum of human knowledge.
What is a self-concept
Sense of self awareness
Communication is defined as?
Process of sharing and understanding meaning
What is a source?
Source is the thing creating the message
i.e. a perosn giving a speech.
What is a message?
A message is the stimulus being produced by the source for the audience.
What is a channel?
Channel is how the message is being sent to the audience.
What is a receiver?
The receiver is the audience, or the people who get the message being produced by the source.
What is Feedback?
Message from the receiver to the source in response to the message sent by the source.
What is an Environment?
The atmosphere (both physical and psychological) where the messages are sent
What is the context?
Setting, scene, and expectations of those involved
What is an interference?
Anything that blocks the intended message or alters the intended meaning.
What is Transactional Communication?
Actions happen at the same time, so the source sends a message to the receiver and the receiver sends back feedback.
What is intrapersonal communication?
Communication with yourself: self-talk or talking to yourself
What is interpersonal communication?
Communication between people (generally 2). It can be any type of communication.
What is Group Communication?
Small group of people engaging in conversation
