The axial and appendicular skeleton
what bones are in the axial skeleton?
Any bones that you touch while drawing a line straight down the center of the body
what bones are in the appendicular skeleton?
Any bones outside the middle line of the skeleton. The limbs, pelvic girdle, and lower limbs.
what are the three main classes of bone markings?
Articulations, projections and holes/dents
what are the eight facial bones?

even though it doesn’t articulate with any bones, it provides numerous attachment points for muscles involved in swallowing and speech

cervical thoracic, lumbar sacral and coccygeal

they are pads between each individual vertebrae. They absorb shock and bind vertebral column together. 
what are the main components of the thoracic cage?
12 pairs of ribs, sternum and part of vertebral column 
What is the function of the thoracic cage?
protect longs heart, and other delicate contents of thoracic cavity
what are the main components of the pectoral girdle?
clavicle and scapula
