When a member of a team does not put in the same effort but there individual effort is hidden so they can ride off others work or watch the team fail

Complex tasks that can be divided into specialized roles, task are well structured, and high task interdependence

Forming: Evaluate the members, test boundaries
Storming: Conflict, establish norms, compete for team roles
Norming: develop cohesion and establish roles, and agree on team objectives
Performing: High cooperation, trust, and coordination
