things that block our goal or achievement:
role overload (work load)
role conflict (work overlapping, assignments, studying, etc.)
role ambiguity (someone say they don’t know what they should be/how they should complete their tasks)
daily hassles
work hindrance stressors not included in the figure (2)
interpersonal conflict: difficult coworkers, supervisor, someone you feel as though have to manage even though its not your job, harassment and bullying
working conditions: physical/environmental, difficult work environment, poorly equipped office,
beauty salon, steel making
work challenge stressors (more of a positive trait)
time pressure
work complexity: new tasks, more exciting things
work responsibility: working on things of importance (to you or even to others)
non-work hindrance stressors
negative life events: deaths, fam problems, etc.
financial uncertainty
work life conflict
non-work hindrance stressors: work life conflict
work and non work enter and conflict one another (bi directional)
time based conflict: time you spend in one area you can not spend in another
strain-based conflict: one role makes you less successful in another role
behaviour-based conflict: type of behaviours we are expected to follow in one role are incompatible for another role
non-work challenge stressors
family time demands (hosting parties, travelling, talking to them, etc.)
positive life events (new relationships, holiday szn, marriage, new house, etc.)
personal development activities (things that allow us to grow) volunteer work, music lessons, etc.
