hunters and gatherers, nomadic, invented fire for warmth and cooking, made stone tools and later tools out of bones
Mesolithic
aka Middle Stone Age
10,000 - 7,000 BCE
Known for raising crops and animals
Hunting and gathering was still a way of life.
Neolithic
aka New Stone age
8000 BCE
expanded agricultural production and the beginnings of cities forming
Archaic
Greek era, 520 - 510 BCE
Saw figure styles on pottery evolving from stiff, simplified forms into more fluidly realized bodies.

Pop Art
a movement which was noted for glorifying popular culture items into art icons
Baroque
17th c art movement. It’s known for exaggeration, artifice, and theatrics.
Renaissance
Known for the rebirth of learning in Europe from te 14th throught the 16th centuries and for the study of Greek and ROman culture.
International Style
Features bare (lack of the decorative) buildings of steel and glass, self-contained and with controlled access. Tends to be geometric, simple “less is more” attitude.
Postmodern architectural
Emphasizes visual complexity, historical references, colorfulness, and even fun.
Deconstructivist architecture
Rejects established conventions and seeks to shake the viewer’s expectations. Buildings can be disoriented, irregular and outside forms may give no clue to the space of their interiors.
