Unipolar disorder
mood disorder that takes a single direction, such as depression
Bereavement
normal grief reaction to the death of a loved one
Persistent depressive disorder
also known as dysthymia; a milder form of depression that lasts for at least two years
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder
mood changes that revolve around menstrual cycle
Manic episode
periods of heightened euphoria, restlessness, and activity and results in disorganized behaviour and impaired judgement
Pressured speach
outpouring of speech where words surge urgently in a manic state
Rapid flight of ideas
manic behaviour involving rapid speech and changes of topics
Hypomania
a milder form of mania
Cyclothymic disorder
chronic pattern of mild mood swings between depression and mania that are not severe enough to be classified as bipolar disorder
