What is an El Niño event and what are some consequences of this event?
An El Niño event warms the Pacific Ocean near South America, causing weather changes like storms and flooding in parts of South America.
Why don’t we know anything about the Americas before 600 A.D?
In the Americas, histories weren’t written down, only carvings, dates, and ruler lists remain. The Maya and Zapotec used writing mainly for timekeeping.

caused by bad weather that led to malnutrition and death among the people. The riot resulted in extensive damage, including vandalized temples and royal residences, broken staircases leading to the temples, and smashed statues and carvings.
Why were the people of Teotihuacan ready to revolt against their rulers?
The people of Teotihuacan were ready to revolt against their rulers because many had to live in the city instead of their former villages. This concentration of the population made them more vulnerable to famine and disease when food sources became scarce.
