It’s Latin for “master of the soldiers”.

He defeated Attalus and Ataulf and created a peace treaty between western Rome empire and the Visigoths. (which ended the fighting)

How was Alaric buried and how was it significant to Alaric’s memory?
He was buried with treasures, and a river was allowed to flow over his grave. The diggers were then killed to keep the location secret.
Why did Ataulf think Gaul would be a good place for the Visigoths?
Because it was the turmoil between the Western and Eastern Romans which made it easier for the Visigoths to invade and take land.
Where and when did Ataulf first settle the Visigoths in Gaul?
In 413, the Visigoths conquered Narbonensis in southern Gaul and made Toulouse their capital.
What happened when Honorius heard that Attalaus and Ataulf were making a play for the Roman Empire?
Constantius captured and beheaded Attalus and reduced the new Visigoth kingdom to hunger and desperation. Ataulf was killed by his own men.
Explain the terms of the deal Wallia made to end the war between the Visigoths and the western Roman Empire.
The Visigoths agreed to help the Western Roman army fight Germanic tribes in Hispania and return captives to Ravenna in exchange for southwestern Gaul. Honorius accepted the treaty.
