In the second parliament from 95’ to 98’, why were the Junto Whigs able to hold power in parliament until 97, and what led to their decline

A

Due to an assassination attempt on the king in 96’, Junto Whigs forced everyone in office to make an oath that William was their King, but country men saw William as a de facto king, thus didn’t make an oath, so most of the pary was jsut Junto Whigs

Due to the treaty of Ryswick which ended the European war, they had no influence over the king as they had nothing to finance anymore
