what is a feasibility study
conducted in the predesign phase to determine casts, location, and programs of interest to each athletic group. (SWOT: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
predesign phase
the committee analysis the programs and services that will be procided to athletes so that the facility is built to meet program needs.
design phase
the committee is finalized, work with architect to finalize blueprints, equipment specificaions for space, health codes, traffic flow, and aesthetically pleasing environment
construction phase
construction is begun and copmleted, cscs should be present as much as possible to make sure the desgn features are being adhered
preoperation
selecting staff the meets standards, education, experience, and certification, staff development, CEC, in service training
difference between modifying existing facility and designing a new one
legal aid is not necessary with existing facility, no cunstruction phase, cscs should aseess exising equipment based ont he needs of all athletes and teams that use the facility
what should the cscs know about the athletes before desinging facility?
- how many athletes will use the facility
- what type of training will they do
- what are the ages
- what is the training experience
- what time of day each team will use the facility
- what repairs must be made.
