What does WOTS-up stand for?
Weaknesses, opportunities, threats, strengths. This looks at the program and takes immediate action to correct deficiencies.
What general topics should be addressed in a comprehensive policies & procedures plan?
Goals & objectives, mission statement, EAP, weather, incident report, patient referral/ billing, hours of operation, scope of operation, facility cleaning/sanitation, etc
What are Policies?
Policies are clear & accurate written statements that identify the basic rules & principles used to control and expedite decision making. Policies are essential for operating the athletic training clinic.
What are procedures?
Procedures describe the process by which something is done (how).
What considerations must be made determining the amount of AT coverage for various sports?
Based on potential risk and the number of athletes involved.
Who makes the hygiene & sanitation guidelines an ATR must adhere to?
Occupational safety and health administration (OSHA)
What does the budget process involve?
Supplies, equipment, purchasing
What is a zero-based budget?
Ghe practice of budgeting every unit of income received, and then adjusting some part of the budget downward for every other part that needs to be adjusted upward. Also refers to the identification of a task or tasks and then funding resources to complete the task independent of current resourcing.
What is a fixed budget?
A budget setting forth dollar amounts that are not subject to change based on the volume of goods or services to be provided.
What is a variable budget?
Based on different levels of activity. It is an extremely useful tool for comparing the actual cost incurred to the cost allowable for the activity level achieved. It is dynamic in nature rather than static.
What is a line-item budget?
Lines of expenditures (for example, personnel, supplies, contractual services, capital outlay) that are the focus of development, analysis, authorization and control of the budget. list all the items in a financial statement according to their cost or the department
What is a lump sum budget?
Very general, non-specific approach to budgeting which leaves a great deal of discretion to the person in charge
What is a program budget?
Describes and gives the detailed costs of every activity or program that is to be carried out in a budget
What are expendable supplies? Nonexpendable?
Expendable supplies are ones that are used once and discarded (first aid, prevention, etc).
Nonexpendable can be reused (scissors, compression wraps)
What is the difference between nonconsumable capital equipment and capital equipment?
Nonconsumable is not usually removed from the ATR (ice machine, stim, etc).
Capital include crutches, coolers, and athletic training kits
