EFR defines a High Rise Structure as
A building(res./com,) having 5 or more floors above ground

high occupant loads
difficult to locate fire
2 styles
Center core: easy lateral spread of fire, the guts of the building are all in the center extending out
Center hall: more compartmentalized, stairs on ends of halls, elevators usually centralized
Stairs: can be protected or unprotected
Straight
Circular
Scissor: 2 stair wells in same area
Return run(have landing and change of direction)
Elevators:

2nd Firefighter mode: phase 2

Stand Pipe system
An arrangement of piping, valves, hose connections, and allied equipment installed in a building or structure

same as any other: set up w view of building
but there will be a lobby,recon,Fire attack, Vent,Search and rescue,Ric, Internal staging, Evac,rehab, staging and overhaul
