when the quality of the decision is unimportant but acceptance is, the decision should permit subordinates to interact and negotiate a fair method of solving differences.

if acceptance is critical and subordinates are motivated to pursue company goals then methods that provide equal partnership in decision-making can generate greater acceptance without risking decision quality.

Bounded Rationality
people are restricted in the information they possess to make decisions, engage in limited search solutions, and settle for less than optimal solutions.
Bounded Discretion
limits decision alternatives to those that fall within ethical standards
Heuristics
rules of thumb based on past experience that managers use to simplify decision making
Choice shift
the determining factors is the pre-meeting position of the members, group discussion causes members to exaggerate their original decision and move towards extremes.
