What is somatic symptom and related disorders?
Excessive thought, feelings, and behaviours related to somatic symptoms
What is somatic symptom disorder?
Symptoms cause distress and sigh I can’t disruption in life. Along with excessive health-related anxiety. With a concern lasting over six months
What is illness anxiety disorder?
When an individual engages in excessive care-seeking for over six months also engaging in excessive illness behaviours
What is factitious disorder?
People deliberately assume physical or psychological symptoms to adopt to adopt the patient role
What is conversion disorder?
A person develops symptoms suggestive of neurological damage such as paralysis, seizures, blindness, and loss of feeling
What are dissociative disorders?
Major loss of memory without a clear physical cause
What is dissociative amnesia?
Unable to remember important information,usually of an upsetting nature, about their lives
What is depersonalization or derealization disorder?
Person feels detached from their body and/or the self
What is dissociative identity disorder?
Two or more distinct personalities
What are personality disorders?
An inflexible pattern of inner experience and outward behaviour that causes distress or difficult with daily functioning
What is antisocial personality disordeR?
When one disregards and violates the rights of others, are impulsive, reckless, self-cemeteries, and linked to criminal behaviour
What are some explanations for antisocial personality disorder?
- Modelling
- Operant conditioning
- Low serotonin activity
- Deficient functioning in the frontal lobes
- Lower arousal to stress and less anxiety
What is boarder line personality disorder?
A severe instability in emotions and self-concept and high levels of volatility
What is bio social theory?
It is an explanation for borderline personality disorder. When a child has difficulty identifying and controlling emotions, and the emotions are punished or disregarded
