Sexual Harrassment

2) Hostile Work Enviornment
Quid Pro Quo
Where job decisions are made based on whether the employee submits to or rejects sexual advances
Hostile Work Environment
When any unwelcome form of sexual conduct creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work setting
Examples of Hostile Work Enviornment
Inappropriate touching, teasing, dirty jokes, vulgar conversations, or the display of sexually explicit pictures
Equal Pay Act
Requires equal pay for men and women performing equal work in an organization
Job Analysis
Studies exactly what is done in a job and why
Job Description
Details the duties and responsibilities of a job holder
Job Specifications
List the qualifications required of a job holder
Reliability
Means that a selection device gives consistent results time after time
Validity
Means that there is a clear relationship between what the selection device measures and job performance
Orientation
Familiarizes new employees with jobs, coworkers, and organizational policies and services
What does BFOQ stand for?
Bona Fide Occupational Qualification
Bona Fide Occupational Qualification
Employment criteria justified by capacity to perform a job
BFOQ Acceptable Basis
Sex, Religion, Age, and National Origin.
