Methods of acquiring knowledge
are the ways a person know things
The method of tenacity
Imformation is accepted as true because it has always been believed or because superstition supports it
The method of inituition
Information is accepted as true because it feels right. Gut feeling.
The method of authority
A person relies on information or answers from an expert in the subject area. Method of faith is a variant (unquestioning trust to authority figures)
The rational method
Seeks answers by the use of logical reasoning
Premise statements
They decribe facts or assumptions that presumed to be true. We need them first in the rational method
Argument
It is a set of premise statements that are logically combined to yield a conclusion.
The method of empiricism
Uses observation or direct sensory experience to obtain knowledge
