is about influencing, motivating, enabling others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organizations of which they are members
what is shared leadership
the view that leadership is a role, not a position assigned to one person; consequently, people within the team and organization lead each other; employees lead each other as the occasion arises
what is shared leadership typically supplemental of
formal ledership; employees lead with that formal manager rather than taking over the role

serving followers toward their need fulfillment, personal development, and growth

a leadership perspective that explains how leaders change teams or organizations by creating, communicating, and modeling a vision for the organization or work unit and inspiring employees to strive for that vision

develop/communicate a strategic vision, model the vision, encourage experimentation, build commitment to the vision
how does transformation leadership view leaders
as change agents; move organization or work unit in a new direction that will provide better opportunities and alignment with the external environment
what is managerial leadership
leadership perspective stating that effective leaders help employees improve their performance and well-being toward current objectives and practices
what is one difference of managerial to transformational leadership
managerial assumes the organizations objectives are stable and aligned with everything, where the other doesn’t and things that a change is needed
what is a second difference between the two
managerial is more micro focused and concrete because it relates to more specific performance and well being objectives, where transformational is more macro focused and abstract
what do transformation and managerial leadership depend on
one another; transformation sets the big picture and where to improve where managerial then takes it into action into operation behaviors, etc.; managerial also needs transformational to set its all in the right direction
what is the path goal leadership theory
theory stating that effective leaders choose the most appropriate leadership styles, depending on the employee and situation, to influence employee expectations about desired results and their positive outcomes
