What is hypoxemia
A low oxygen content in the arterial blood
What are the 4 types of respiration and what do they do?
Pulmonary - moving in and out
External - alveoli/capillary gas exchange
Internal - gas exchange between the cells and systemic capillaries
Cellular - the breakdown of glucose
What is hypoxia
An inadequate amount of oxygen being delivered to the cells
What is the narrowest portion of the upper airway in children?
The cricoid cartilage

Head tilt, chin lift

Oropharyngeal
