Jericho
One of the oldest communities is Jericho. Found in the west. Bank between what are now Israel and Jordan. The city dates back to 8000 BC.
Catal Huyuk
A well known Neolithic community found in present-day Turkey. Was home to 6000 people between about 6700 BC and 5700 BC.
What types of artifacts do archaeologist look for?
Archaeologists look for artifacts that will help them uncovered clues about early human life. They might look for weapons, tools, pottery, and other human made objects.
How are fossils and artifacts different?
Fossils are plants or animals that were preserved in rock and artifacts are things made by humans that are buried underground such as tools and weapons.
Why were Paleolithic people nomads?
Paleolithic people were nomads because they followed groups of animals so that they could get food to eat
How did Paleo with Vic people adapt to their environment and use tools to help them survive?
Paleolithic people built different shelters depending on the climate and learned to tame fire
How did spoken language help the Paleolithic people?
Language made it far easier for people to work together and to pass on knowledge.
