Signs and Symptoms of a Dislocation.

A
  1. Diffuse or specific pain
  2. Swelling/brusing
  3. deformity
  4. Tenderness/point tenderness
  5. Sounds cracks pops crepitis
  6. Altered CSMs
  7. Changes in range of motion.
  8. Deformity at joint
  9. History of Dislocations

A
  1. Start as soon as possible After Patient Assessment System
  2. Slow Steady Traction in line (TIL)
  3. Go until pain is unmanageable or you are met with resistance
  4. After reduction splint usable and un usable injury.
  5. If reduction does not occur splint in position
  6. monitor CSM before and after reduction/splinting
  7. Consider Evacuation

  1. Ice: cool area 20-40 mins continue evert 2-4 hours
  2. Elevate injury above heart to reduce swelling.
  3. consider pain medication
