Arthroscopy
visual examination of a joint
Bone Density Test
xray of hip bone to determine if patient has osteoporosis
Bone Marrow Aspiration
using a needle and syringe to extract liquid from the bone marrow for transplantation
Computerized Tomography (CT)
high powered xray machine: radiation high! (good for locating tiny fractures on bone)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
image is produced using magnets (high powered; very expensive; most detailed scan)
Rheumatoid Factor (RF)
blood test used to detect RA
X-ray
very quick, cheap, easy images with minimal radiation risk
Arthrocentesis
removal of fluid from a joint
Bone Grafting
transplanting bone from one bone to a joint
Bursectomy
surgical removal of the bursa
Diskectomy
surgical removal of the intervertebral disk
Spondylosyndesis
surgical fusion of a joint
Tenotomy
surgical incision of the tendon
(Tendon - attaches bone to muscle)
