Ch. 7 review Flashcards
Angles on the outside of the vertices of any polygon that makes a linear pair with the interior angles
Yhb
Convex polygon
Interior angles are less than 180
Concave polygon:
At least one interior angle is greater than 180
(Caved in polygon)
Regular polygon
All angles and sides are congruent
Thereom 7.1: polygon interior angles thrm
The sum of the measure’s of the interior angles of a convex n - gon is (n - 2) x 180
N = side
Thrm 7.2 polygon exterior angles thrm:
Sum of Exterior angles of a convex polygon is 360
Rectangle diagonals thrm
A parallelogram is a rectangle if and only if it’s diagonals are congruent
Polygons:sides
Triangle:3
Quadrilateral: 4
Pentagon:5
Hexagon:6
Heptagon:7
octogon:8
Nonagon:9
Decagon:10
To find the number of triangles in a shape you subtract 2 from the
Number of sides
Polygon interior angles: what is the value of x
(n-2) 180 = answer
All interior angles of shaped added together = answer
Solve now for x
Solve for x (exterior angles)
Add up all exterior angles together = 360
Combine x numbers and normal numbers then solve for x
Quad hierarchy - trapezoids
Top base + bottom base / 2 = mid segment
The midsegment is the average of __ ___ ____ (____ ___ ______)
The 2 bases ( top and bottom)
In order to find a missing angle measure you can:
Add up all angles and make it equal to 360 and solve for x and find the angles
Quadrilateral:
A polygon with 4 sides
Quadrilateral: sides - number of triangles - int. Angles
4-2-360
Pythagorean thereom:
A^2 + B^2 = c^2
How to solve Pythagorean thereom:
(5)2 + (13) 2 = c2
25 + 169 = c^2
In order to get rid of C’s ^2:
Square root 194 = square root c^2
Answer square root 194 square root
