ch 7 Flashcards
kyphosis lordosis muscular imbalance shortened muscles
SCHNLL
lumbar extensors, hip flexors, anterior shoulders/chest, neck extensors, latissimus dorsi
kyphosis lordosis muscular imbalance lengthened muscles
SHUNE
external obliques, scapular stabilizers, hip extensors, neck flexors, upper back extensors
Flatback muscle imbalances shortened muscles
RANU
rectus abdominis, neck extensors, upper back extensors ankle plantar flexors
Flatback muscle imbalances shortened muscles 2
LINI
psoas major/iliacus, lumbar extensors, internal obliques, neck flexors
Swayback imbalances shortened muscles
lumbar extensors, hamstrings, upper fibers of posterior obliques, neck extensors
swayback imbalances lengthen muscles
BRUINE
psoas major/iliacus, external obliques, neck flexors, rectus for Morris and upper back/extensions
Correctable imbalances conditions
poor posture due to habit, bad joint mobility/stability, side dominance
Non correctable imbalances conditions
arthritis, scoliosis, surgeries
Ankle supination (high arches)
inversion foot movement, knees movement- external rotation, frontal, femoral movement-external rotation
Pronation of Ankle (arch flattening)
eversion foot movement, knee- internal, frontal, femoral-internal
Hip adduction/hiking
one hip is elevated dur to a lateral tilt of pelvis
pelvic tilting-posterior (dumping water on back of bucket)
dominant/tight rectus abdominis, tight hamstrings
Anterior pelvic tilt-pelvis rotates forward, sagittal view-pouring water front of bucket
tight hip flexors-majority sitting down
shoulders not level
tight/overactive upper trapezius, rhomboids, levator scapula
shoulders-asymmetry to midline
flexed side/later trunk flexors
