prescription
a handwritten, computerized, electronic, or verbal order from a physician to a pharmacist, giving instructions on how to dispense a drug to a specific patient

computerized or electronic prescription
a prescription can be typed into the medical office’s software system, a copy of the prescription printed out, signed by the physician, and given to the patient or faxed directly to the pharmacy.
verbal prescription

medication order
